Estêvão wonder goal lights up Chelsea’s statement win over 10-man Barcelona

Chelsea produced a dominant performance to beat Barcelona 3-0 at Stamford Bridge, with teenage sensation Estêvão Willian scoring a stunning solo goal that drew comparisons with Lionel Messi. The 18-year-old Brazilian, who joined Chelsea from Palmeiras for £52 million last summer, tore the Spanish champions apart and outshone Barcelona's Lamine Yamal in a battle of two of the world's best young talents.

Estêvão's goal came in the first half after a spectacular run from the right flank. He left Pau Cubarsí bewildered, held off Alejandro Balde, and unleashed a fierce shot with his weaker right foot past Joan García. It was his fourth goal in four starts for Chelsea and made him the third teenager after Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappé to score in his first three Champions League starts.

Barcelona struggled throughout, with Marc Cucurella effectively neutralising Lamine Yamal. The visitors' captain Ronald Araújo was sent off just before half-time after receiving a second yellow card for fouling Cucurella. Chelsea had already taken the lead through an own goal by Jules Koundé, who turned Pedro Neto's flick into his own net from a corner routine.

Enzo Maresca's side controlled the midfield through Moisés Caicedo, Enzo Fernández, and Reece James, overwhelming Barcelona's trio of Frenkie de Jong, Fermín López, and Eric García. Chelsea moved up to fifth in the Champions League standings with the win, while Barcelona remain on seven points from five games and face an uphill battle to finish in the top eight.

Despite missing the injured Cole Palmer, Chelsea delivered another convincing performance. Marcus Rashford came on as a second-half substitute for Ferran Torres, who had missed an early chance for Barcelona. The 37-year-old Robert Lewandowski was ineffective, and Chelsea's set-piece prowess proved too much for the visitors.
