Championship: Wright strikes late again for Coventry; Ipswich climb to second

Haji Wright scored the winner for the second time in three days as Coventry beat Millwall 2-1 at the CBS Arena. Wright, who netted an 85th-minute goal against Leicester on Saturday, notched his 10th goal of the season to secure back-to-back victories. Romain Esse opened his account for Coventry against his former club before Mihailo Ivanovic equalised for Millwall.

Frank Lampard, the Coventry manager, said: 'I'm very happy, we've had two tough games. Millwall played well enough, they're in very good form, and are a strong team who have a good idea about what they're doing. They made it a tough game for us but I think we deserved to win.'

Two goals from Jack Clarke helped Ipswich move into second place with a 2-0 win over Bristol City at Portman Road. Clarke's low effort after eight minutes and his second in the 55th minute, set up by Iván Azón, secured a fourth consecutive league victory for Ipswich, who leapfrogged Middlesbrough by a point.

Jannik Vestergaard's 90th-minute equaliser denied Wrexham a win that would have put them within touching distance of the play-offs, as Leicester held them to a 1-1 draw. Lewis O'Brien had fired Wrexham ahead, but Vestergaard scored Leicester's only second-half shot. Liam Millar scored against his former club and Oli McBurnie added a spectacular third as Hull thumped Preston 3-0, while Derby boosted their play-off hopes with a 2-1 win at Charlton.

Norwich moved to within a point of West Brom after a crushing 5-0 victory at the Hawthorns, plunging the Baggies deeper into relegation trouble. Zan Vipotnik's double helped Swansea to a 3-1 win over Blackburn, piling pressure on Rovers manager Valérien Ismaël. Late goals from Marvin Ducksch and Kyogo Furuhashi gave Birmingham a 2-0 win at Sheffield Wednesday, who set an unwanted club record.
