A preview image of Celtic's third kit for next season has been leaked, showing a black base with 'blanch brown' detailing. The image, shared by Footy Headlines, offers an unofficial look at the strip ahead of its official launch.
Kit Design and Details
The leaked design features a solid black base with 'blanch brown' detailing, which includes the adidas logo, a monochrome Celtic crest, and the iconic three stripes on the shoulder. The Dafabet sponsors logo is also visible, along with the customary star above the badge, denoting the club's 1967 European Cup triumph.
Celtic already have their three kits for the current campaign: the traditional green and white hoops for the home kit, black and green vertical stripes for the away, and the Lisbon Lions Legacy third kit, which has split opinion among fans.
Fan Campaign and Board Tensions
How popular the kit proves will likely depend on Celtic's trophy return this season. Ongoing friction between fans and the board over perceived poor recruitment and a lack of spending relative to cash in the bank has seen numerous protests over the last couple of years.
Fans are also at odds with ultras group the Green Brigade, who are boycotting Europa League and Scottish Cup home matches this season.
Continued Boycott and Merchandise Criticism
Last year saw the launch of the "not another penny" campaign, where fans were urged to buy match tickets and nothing else by way of merchandise or food and drink inside Celtic Park. The Celtic Fans Collective confirmed that the campaign is continuing into this season, although exactly what effect it has had on club revenues will be unclear until the annual accounts are published.
Celtic have been criticised by fans for the frequency at which they launch new ranges of merchandise on top of the usual kit launches, seeing it as an attempt to milk more cash from punters.
