Holders Liverpool face a trip to Southampton, Arsenal will host Crystal Palace in a London derby, and Newcastle United welcome Brentford to St James' Park. The matches are scheduled for mid-December, with the semi-finals taking place over two legs in the new year and the final on March 16 at Wembley.

All remaining teams are from the Premier League after Arsenal beat Preston North End 3-0, with goals from Gabriel Jesus, Ethan Nwaneri and Kai Havertz. Liverpool came from behind to beat Brighton 3-2, while Newcastle's two early goals proved decisive against Chelsea.
