Leeds United top scorer Dominic Calvert-Lewin is a doubt for Saturday's Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur after suffering an injury setback, manager Daniel Farke has confirmed.
Calvert-Lewin, who has scored five goals across all competitions, has started all nine of Leeds' Premier League games this season and completed 90 minutes in all but three appearances. However, that record is now under threat after he missed training on Thursday with a foot problem.
Farke optimistic on striker's fitness
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Farke said: "Dominic Calvert-Lewin had a little setback with his foot as well, was not able to train with us today but I would say I am carefully optimistic that he is back in training hopefully tomorrow and then he would also be available."
The 29-year-old's potential absence would be a significant blow for Leeds as they prepare to welcome a resurgent Tottenham side to Elland Road for the lunchtime kick-off.
Mixed news for Leeds squad
Elsewhere, defender Joe Rodon could be available to face his former club after returning to full team training this week. Farke described the news as positive, noting Rodon had been out for "quite a time" but is an important player for the squad.
However, the attack remains a concern. Noah Okafor missed the last game with adductor problems and has not yet joined team training this week, leaving his availability uncertain. Anton Stach is also a doubt with foot problems, having only completed individual rehab work.
Farke added: "With Anton and Noah we have to see," with two more days remaining before the match.
