Chris Cadden backs Stephen Robinson to turn Aberdeen season around
Cadden backs Robinson to turn Aberdeen season around

Chris Cadden has insisted he is only at Aberdeen because of Stephen Robinson and the fact he has a proven record in the Premiership.

He worked with him at Motherwell when with one of the lowest budgets the Northern Irishman led them to Europe and were Hampden regulars. Robinson continued that theme at St Mirren and went one step further by leading his team to Premier Sports Cup glory last season.

Manager's backing

It is taking time for the manager's new-look side to find its feet at Pittodrie but Cadden has confidence that he will get it right. Those of a red persuasion will hope that starts when Robinson's former team, St Mirren, head to Pittodrie on Saturday.

The former Scotland cap said: "I loved playing under him at Motherwell. Obviously there is the size of the club but It's no secret the manager was a massive part in me wanting to be here and also getting me. I know how successful his teams have been and his track record has been really good in this league especially."

Drilled and coached

Cadden knows that Robinson works relentlessly to make his teams successful. He also knows he is doing the same behind the scenes at Cormack Park.

Aberdeen have struggled to find their top gear but Cadden said: "One thing the manager was very good at during my time at Motherwell, and I think he still is, we were so well drilled and coached. As a player you know exactly where you need to be. You know exactly what is expected of you."
