Brittany Mahomes Enters University of Texas Tyler Hall of Fame

Brittany Mahomes, widely recognised as the wife of NFL superstar Patrick Mahomes, is receiving a significant personal accolade as she prepares for induction into the University of Texas Tyler's Athletic Hall of Fame. The university is honouring what it describes as 'one of the strongest careers in UT Tyler women's soccer history,' a testament to her impressive performances between 2013 and 2016.

A Standout Collegiate Soccer Career

During her tenure with the UT Tyler Patriots, Mahomes established herself as a formidable attacking force, finding the back of the net 31 times across 74 appearances. Her goal-scoring prowess and consistent performances have cemented her legacy within the university's sports programme.

'Honoured and Grateful'

Expressing her gratitude, Mahomes stated, 'I'm honoured to be inducted. My time at UT Tyler played a huge role in shaping my life, career, and the person I am today.' She will be officially enshrined during a private ceremony on March 28th, an event open exclusively to close friends and family members.

Mahomes paid special tribute to her former coach, Stefani Webb, acknowledging the profound influence she had on her development. 'I'm especially grateful to Coach Webb - her belief in me, leadership, and constant support had an incredible impact on my journey both on and off the field,' Mahomes added.

Lasting Connections and Fond Memories

Reflecting on her collegiate years, Mahomes emphasised the enduring significance of her experience. 'UT Tyler will always hold a special place in my heart. I'm so thankful for the experiences and the people who were part of making my time in Tyler one I will never forget.'

From College Star to Sports Advocate

Following her graduation, Mahomes pursued a professional playing career with a brief spell in Iceland before relocating to Europe. This move coincided with the Kansas City Chiefs selecting Patrick Mahomes in the 2017 NFL Draft.

While she is now celebrated nationally as one of the NFL's most prominent WAGs and a mother of three children with Patrick, Mahomes has maintained a deep connection to women's soccer. Together with her husband, she serves as a co-owner of the National Women's Soccer League franchise, Kansas City Current.

In this capacity, she played an instrumental role in overseeing the construction of CPKC Stadium, acclaimed as the world's first purpose-built stadium dedicated to a women's professional football team.

University Praise and Legacy

UT Tyler's Director of Athletics, Sam Ferguson, lauded Mahomes's contributions, stating, 'Brittany's outstanding playing career was unmatched, as she found the net with frequency. Her career pales only in comparison to the incredible work she has been doing to advance women in sport.'

This Hall of Fame induction underscores Mahomes's dual legacy: as a record-setting collegiate athlete and as a modern advocate for women's sports ownership and infrastructure development.
