Chelsea delivered a dominant performance at the Amex Stadium, securing a 4-0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League. Eden Hazard was the standout performer, scoring a superb solo goal and orchestrating much of the Blues' attacking play.
Brighton manager Chris Hughton expressed frustration after the match, claiming his side should have been awarded two penalties. 'We didn't do ourselves any favours by going 2-0 down so early, but the result is not a full reflection of the game,' Hughton said. 'For me, we should have had two penalties.'
Chelsea took control early, with Victor Moses scoring in the 88th minute after a delightful pass from Charlie Musonda. Hazard sealed the win with a brilliant individual effort in the 73rd minute, weaving past defenders before slotting home. Willian also hit the post with a free-kick, while Brighton's Davy Propper struck the crossbar.
The visitors made several changes, including a late substitute appearance for Musonda, while Brighton introduced Beram Kayal and Glenn Murray. Ross Barkley was seen warming up but did not feature. Andreas Christensen required medical treatment after a collision but continued playing.
Despite the heavy defeat, Hughton felt his team had good periods. 'In the second half we gave them a game, but we needed to be better,' he added. Chelsea's victory lifted them to third in the table, while Brighton remained in the relegation zone.
