Khadija Shaw opened the scoring against the run of play, nodding in Alex Greenwood's cross after Brighton had dominated the early exchanges. Greenwood doubled the lead with a clever free-kick before half-time, catching Brighton's wall and goalkeeper off guard.
Brighton, playing in their first Wembley final, created several chances in the opening half-hour but failed to convert. Fran Kirby and Kiko Seike both missed opportunities, and City's clinical edge proved decisive. Aoba Fujino added a third with a deflected effort, and Vivianne Miedema's late header completed the scoring.
Shaw, who recently signed a new contract after speculation about her future, said: "It's been a crazy few weeks... to be here winning the FA Cup. The last time I was at Wembley, I lost so I wanted to correct that today." The Jamaican striker was substituted late on to a warm ovation.
Brighton head coach Dario Vidosic praised his team's performance despite the scoreline: "I feel the result is a little bit unfair on the girls... We need to keep working on taking our chances." City's victory completed a memorable season under Andrée Jeglertz, who led the club to their first league title in a decade.
