Bayern Munich Chief Reveals Harry Kane's Staggering Valuation

Bayern Munich's honorary president Uli Hoeness has made a bold statement regarding the future of star striker Harry Kane, placing a price tag of over £200 million on the England captain. This declaration comes amid increasing speculation about Kane's future as his contract with the German giants approaches its final stages.

Contract Situation and Release Clause Details

Harry Kane's current contract with Bayern Munich is set to expire in June 2027, but a release clause of £57 million became active in January as he entered the final 18 months of his deal. However, for this clause to be triggered this summer, Kane would have needed to inform Bayern of his intention to leave before the end of January. The 32-year-old forward did not take this step, leading Hoeness to assert that Kane is firmly under contract until 2027.

"He didn't exercise his release clause, which means he's definitely under contract here until summer 2027," Hoeness told Kicker. "What I'm hearing and feeling is that he and his family feel extremely comfortable here. You never know when a Saudi comes along and puts a lot of money on the table, but he feels very much at home."

Comparative Valuation and Market Context

Hoeness elaborated on Kane's worth by drawing a comparison with Liverpool's recent signing, Alexander Isak. "I'd say Harry Kane is worth €150m (£130m). But then you see Alexander Isak cost €150m to Liverpool," he said. "If Isak is worth 150 million, then Harry is worth €250m (£217m)."

Isak was acquired by Liverpool from Newcastle for a British-record fee of £125 million in September, but his debut season has been hampered by injuries, resulting in only three goals in 16 appearances. In stark contrast, Kane is enjoying a prolific period, having scored 48 goals in 40 games this season and 133 goals in 136 games since joining Bayern from Tottenham in 2023.

Kane's Contentment and Dismissal of Rumours

Despite links to clubs like Barcelona and Saudi Pro League sides, Kane has consistently expressed his happiness at Bayern Munich. He recently brushed off suggestions from a Barcelona presidential candidate about potential talks, stating, "I haven't heard anything about it. My father and brother handle everything, but they haven't said anything to me. As I've already said, I'm very happy here at Bayern. I'm focused on this season and my time at Bayern. I take it as a compliment."

Bayern's Calm Approach and Future Plans

Bayern Munich are keen to secure Kane's long-term future, with discussions about a new contract that could see him earn £400,000 per week. However, the club is projecting a relaxed attitude towards the situation. Sporting director Christoph Freund commented, "He still has a year-and-a-half left on his contract. He feels extremely comfortable here. We're not stressing about it. He should continue as he is and continue to feel so comfortable with his family in Munich. Then he can stay in Munich for a long time."

This stance underscores Bayern's confidence in retaining their key asset, as Kane continues to deliver exceptional performances on the pitch, solidifying his status as one of football's most valuable players.
