Barcola Won't Push for Move
France international Barcola, 23, has told PSG he has no intention of signing a new deal at the Parc des Princes, according to Le Parisien. However, the same report states he "will not force a move" from his home of the past three years. It is not clear if he wants to leave this summer, only that he is not interested in extending his current terms.
Barcola has also turned down an approach from Chelsea earlier this summer, which could hint at a specific destination. Liverpool remain keen on signing a successor to Mohamed Salah, who left prematurely this summer. Victor Munoz's £34m arrival from Osasuna has added depth, but more business is expected at Anfield.
Ndukwe Cannot Play for Liverpool
New Liverpool signing Ifeanyi Ndukwe will not be able to play for the first team this season. The 18-year-old's £2.6m move from Austria Wien was confirmed in January but only officially went through in July. However, he has not met the threshold to obtain a UK work permit, meaning a loan move is likely so he can gain necessary experience.
The development is a blow for Liverpool's defence, already hit by Joe Gomez's injury and Ibrahima Konate's free transfer to Real Madrid. Fellow new signing Jeremy Jacquet has yet to debut, and youngster Giovanni Leoni is recovering from a serious knee injury.
