A Barcelona fan's navigation error led him to the wrong St James' Park on Tuesday, 366 miles from where his team were playing. The supporter, travelling from London, intended to watch Barcelona face Newcastle in the Champions League but instead arrived at Exeter City's stadium.
Upon presenting his ticket, staff realised the mistake. Exeter's supporter experience officer, Adam Spencer, said the fan was 'gutted and a bit embarrassed'. The club gave him a ticket for their League One match against Lincoln, which Exeter lost 1-0.
Meanwhile, Barcelona drew 1-1 at Newcastle in the first leg of their last-16 tie, with Lamine Yamal scoring a late penalty. The Exeter-bound fan missed the match but watched a game at what Spencer called 'the real St James Park'.
