Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has heaped praise on 16-year-old academy star Max Dowman after the teenager made a dazzling impression in the Gunners' pre-season friendly against Boreham Wood.
The young midfielder, who only turned 16 in May, showcased his talent during the 4-2 victory at Meadow Park, leaving fans and coaching staff excited about his potential.

"He's a player with enormous potential," Arteta told reporters after the match. "What impressed me most was his maturity on the ball and his understanding of the game at such a young age."
The Spanish tactician emphasised that while Dowman's performance was promising, the club would carefully manage his development: "We need to be patient with young players like Max. The physical demands of senior football are very different from academy level."

The England youth international has been turning heads in Arsenal's academy since joining at under-9 level. His technical ability and composure in midfield have drawn comparisons to former Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas, who also broke through as a teenager.
