Things are still going strong between Keanu Reeves and his girlfriend of eight years, Alexandra Grant, who were spotted sharing a laugh at the MOCA Gala in Los Angeles, California on Saturday night.
The 61-year-old Matrix alum wore a black suit with a grey top, tie and brown shoes, while the 53-year-old artist bared her arms and taut tummy in a blue teal top, matching maxi-skirt and gold accessories. Reeves even flashed a rare, genuine smile as he held hands with the woman he calls 'my honey' on the black carpet of The Geffen Contemporary.
'I'd say the key to it is the mutual respect and also just like, come on, it's play, right?' Grant told People last Friday of their relationship. 'It's play that we get to play creatively. The last thing I will say that I think we share is just the belief in projects. Every project has its own autonomy, its own team, it has its own sort of rules, and it has a beginning, middle and end. So we both are people who do projects, and you know, I've lived with John Wick, I've lived with Neo.'
The grantLOVE project creator continued: 'When he's in a character, for example, I have so much respect for that understanding that this is the middle to the end of a project, right? And I think the same goes for painting. When I'm in painter mode, I am in it. I'm fully in it, and it's not playing a character, but it is performing, you know, painting really is a form of performance too.'
The Outcome star originally met Grant at a dinner party in 2009 before contributing poetry to two of her books, Ode to Happiness in 2011 and Shadows in 2016. Reeves and his silver-haired ladylove co-founded the small publishing imprint X Artists' Books in 2017 alongside Jessica Fleischmann before they officially began dating in 2018.
The Carl Rinsch defender previously romanced Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron and Oscar-winning screenwriter Sofia Coppola, as well as the late David Lynch's assistant Jennifer Syme, who died in a 2001 car accident after welcoming their stillborn daughter in 1999.
Grant is next scheduled to discuss her solo painting exhibition Antigone 3000 (Anakainōsis) with Claire Gilman, Ph.D this Tuesday at 5pm at the New York City gallery Albertz Benda. On July 29, Dark Horse Comics will publish the 56-page NANO comic book illustrated by the California College of the Arts grad centered on a 'bada** operative of the underground organization The Order.'
Bassist Reeves' alternative rock band Dogstar, featuring frontman Bret Domrose and drummer Robert Mailhouse, is next scheduled to bring their All In Now Tour to the Grammy Museum LA Live in LA this Tuesday. The International Emmy-winning producer will next reprise his voiceover role as stuntman toy Duke Caboom in Andrew Stanton's animated flick Toy Story 5, hitting US/UK theaters June 19, alongside Tom Hanks, Tim Allen and Joan Cusack.
Reeves' other upcoming projects include Masashi Kawamura's stop-motion action film Hidari, Jeff Fowler's four-quel Sonic the Hedgehog 4, Tim Miller's time travel thriller Shiver, an Amazon MGM Studios romantic thriller with Sandra Bullock, Justin Lin's comic adaptation BRZKR and Ruben Östlund's satirical black comedy The Entertainment System Is Down.
