Arsenal in Talks to Sign £85m Striker Benjamin Sesko as Arteta Approves Deal

Arsenal have held 'concrete talks' with RB Leipzig and Benjamin Sesko over a summer transfer to the Emirates Stadium, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. Mikel Arteta is desperate to sign an elite striker and has approved the move for the 21-year-old Slovenian.

Sesko scored 21 goals for Leipzig last season, fewer than fellow targets Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen. However, at five years younger, Arsenal believe he can develop into a top Premier League star. The Gunners have expressed interest in Sesko previously but failed to sign a striker in the last two windows.

Leipzig are reportedly holding out for a fee of £85m, though Arsenal hope to negotiate a price between £60-70m. Sesko has an agreement with Leipzig that he will be sold this summer. He has 16 goals in 41 caps for Slovenia and has been tipped to become the country's greatest ever player.

While Arsenal's focus is on Sesko, they have not ruled out a move for Gyokeres, who has also attracted interest from Manchester United and Chelsea. However, Chelsea's interest in all three strikers is expected to end as they have agreed a deal for Liam Delap from Ipswich Town.

Sesko recently commented on his future, stating: 'The club has given me a lot... It's a great club to develop at.' He added that he wants to 'play for a club that suits me' and 'brings out the best in me'.
