Timber later took to Instagram with a reassuring message, posting photos from the match and writing: "We made it, see you in 2026 [love heart emoji]." Given his previous anterior cruciate ligament injury shortly after joining Arsenal, supporters may have feared the worst, but his upbeat social media activity suggests he is likely to be available for the weekend.
The scare comes alongside other injury concerns for Arsenal. Gabriel Magalhaes was forced off during Brazil's friendly against Senegal with a groin injury, later confirmed as a muscle injury in his right thigh, and will miss Brazil's next match. Riccardo Calafiori is also following a separate training programme in Italy due to a hip problem, though there is optimism he will be fit for Sunday.
Despite these worries, reports indicate that Timber, Gabriel, and Calafiori are expected to be available for the clash at the Emirates Stadium. Michael Oliver has been appointed as the on-field referee, with Stuart Attwell and Constantine Hatzidakis on VAR.
