Arsenal restored their five-point lead at the top of the Premier League with a commanding 4-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the north London derby. Eberechi Eze scored twice, while Viktor Gyokeres added a brace to secure a resounding win for Mikel Arteta's side at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Eze opened the scoring in the 32nd minute, lashing home after Bukayo Saka's run into the box. Tottenham responded quickly, with Randal Kolo Muani equalising just 123 seconds later for interim head coach Igor Tudor's first goal in charge. However, Arsenal dominated after the break, with Gyokeres curling a wonderful strike in the 47th minute to restore the lead.
Eze punished more slack defending in the 61st minute, rolling home after a ricochet off Joao Palhinha to make it 3-1. Gyokeres added his second in stoppage time, holding off Archie Gray to complete the scoring. The win moves Arsenal five points clear of Manchester City, who had cut the gap to two points with a win on Saturday.
Tottenham, meanwhile, remain 16th in the table, just four points above the relegation zone after a sobering start for Tudor. The defeat highlighted defensive frailties that have plagued Spurs all season, with only two home league wins to their name.
