Georgia Stanway has already etched Arsenal's anthem into her skin before stepping onto the Emirates pitch. The England midfielder, 27, revealed a tattoo reading "whatever the weather" – a lyric from North London Forever – in her unveiling video after moving from Bayern Munich. "It shows I'm going to give absolutely everything for this club," she said.
Stanway is one of seven Arsenal signings this summer, part of a squad revamp that saw Beth Mead and Katie McCabe depart. Academy graduate Lotte Wubben-Moy, a lifelong fan, represents the club's core culture. "She has set a very high bar," Wubben-Moy said of Stanway's tattoo. "That's Georgia. She goes all in."
Wubben-Moy wants starting spot
Wubben-Moy, also 27, aims to secure a regular place in defence after covering for injuries. "I've always felt ready. When I get my moment, I deliver," she said. "We're built on defensive solidity. That should be the stepping stone towards victories."
Technical director targets league title
Jodie Taylor, Arsenal's technical director since January, acknowledged the need for change. "Change is inevitable," Wubben-Moy added. "We've become a nimble team." Taylor stressed the club's ambition: "We want to win the league. With the signings we've made, we're in a great place."
Stanway said Arsenal's early interest convinced her to join. "Arsenal came in early doors. They were super loyal from the beginning." The new recruits include Selina Çerçi, Géraldine Reuteler, Ona Batlle, Misa Rodríguez, Lisa Baum, and Isabella Damm, giving Renée Slegers' coaching staff a full pre-season.
Arsenal averaged over 34,000 fans at the Emirates last WSL season and won the Champions Cup in 2025 but haven't claimed a league title since 2019. "We're an ambitious club," Taylor said. "We flat out say it: we want to win the league."
