The Brazilian centre-back took to Instagram after the match, sharing a series of photos including one where he stands triumphantly behind Son. His caption read: 'Great win! We continue together in pursuit of our goal!' with a Brazilian flag and flexed arm emoji.
The victory extended Gabriel's personal winning streak against Son, who left Tottenham after a decade to join Los Angeles FC in the summer. Despite a strong start in Major League Soccer, Son failed to score against Brazil as his side suffered a heavy defeat.
Arsenal fans will enjoy seeing Gabriel continue his rivalry with Son on the international stage. The Gunners currently sit top of the Premier League table, while Tottenham are third after both clubs won their opening matches before the international break.
