Sohe, a pan-Asian restaurant on Osborne Road in Jesmond, has closed with immediate effect. The owners confirmed the shutdown on Tuesday afternoon, thanking customers for their support over the past 12 years.
A popular spot since 2014
The restaurant first opened in 2014, offering a different dining experience on a street already home to many successful businesses. Known for its sizzling BBQ dishes, small plates, and cocktails, Sohe became a popular destination for bottomless brunches in the affluent Tyneside suburb.
Just days after posting on Instagram to promote desserts from its menu, the owners returned to the platform on Tuesday to announce the sudden closure with a short statement.
Statement and booking enquiries
The statement read: 'We are now closed. We’ve loved being part of the Jesmond community over the years, and we’d like to thank all our guests for their support and the many occasions they’ve shared with us. All customers with existing bookings will receive direct communication from the venue.'
Customers with questions about bookings were advised to email info@sohe.co.uk.
Recent closures in the area
The closure follows the shutdown of Paros and Nest in Heaton on Monday, and Scream for Pizza in Sandyford last week.
