Arsenal and England football star Bukayo Saka is set to marry his long-term partner, Tolami Benson, after a romantic proposal at a luxury London hotel, according to reports.
A Private Proposal
The 24-year-old footballer reportedly organised a special night at a top London hotel where he asked the senior planning executive to be his wife. A source described the moment as "incredibly special," revealing that Saka "went all out" for the occasion and presented Benson with an "absolutely enormous" engagement ring.
The couple, who are both 24, have been dating since 2020 but have famously kept their relationship away from the public eye. They maintain a remarkably low profile on social media, where they do not follow each other and rarely, if ever, share photos of one another.
From Private to Public
Despite their discretion, their relationship first entered the public sphere at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, where they were photographed embracing in the stands in Doha. Since that initial appearance, glimpses of their partnership have been rare but significant.
Benson was a visible presence cheering on Saka during Euro 2024 last summer. Following England's 0-0 draw with Slovenia in June, the couple shared a kiss in the stands. In another show of support, she wore a custom-made leather biker jacket featuring the number '87'—the same number Saka wore on his jersey when he broke into the Arsenal senior side during the 2018-19 season—during England's 1-0 win over Serbia.
Life Away from the Pitch
While Benson's social media accounts feature plenty of references to Arsenal and show friendships with other Premier League partners, such as Ben White's wife Milly and Leandro Trossard's wife Laura, there is little direct evidence of her relationship with the winger.
Originally from Hatfield, Hertfordshire, Benson studied public relations and media at Birmingham City University. Her career has seen her progress from working on the shop floor at Harrods to the PR world, and she recently started a new role as a senior planning executive for Zenith in May.
Her Instagram offers a window into a luxurious lifestyle, with photos of private jets and exotic resorts, alongside more personal touches like a picture from a rural shooting trip. On Threads, she presents a more down-to-earth image, even sharing views from her morning train commute into central London.
For his part, Saka, who boasts a massive 7.6 million followers on Instagram, similarly keeps his private life strictly off-limits on his social media channels, making no mention of his PR executive girlfriend of nearly four years.
