Arsenal Target Viktor Gyokeres Spotted Training with Tottenham Star Amid Transfer Saga

Viktor Gyokeres has been filmed training with Tottenham midfielder Lucas Bergvall during the summer break, fuelling speculation over the Sporting CP striker's potential move to Arsenal. The 27-year-old, who scored 54 goals last season, is reportedly keen to join Mikel Arteta's side despite interest from Manchester United.

The footage shows Gyokeres keeping fit with Sweden teammate Bergvall, who joined Spurs in February 2024. The striker is understood to be following a daily training plan in Stockholm to maintain peak condition ahead of the new season, sending a clear message to Arsenal about his commitment.

However, the transfer has stalled due to several factors, including Arsenal's simultaneous pursuit of RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko and Sporting's insistence on Gyokeres' £84 million release clause. Portuguese outlet Correio Da Manha reported on Monday that Sporting may now accept a lower fee of £68.5 million.

Reports in Portugal also claim Gyokeres has threatened to go on strike to force through a move, though Sporting president Frederico Varandas has stated the club will not be 'blackmailed'. Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta is negotiating with both clubs and players.

Arteta is reportedly keen to sign Gyokeres before Arsenal's July tour of Asia, which includes matches against AC Milan, Newcastle and Tottenham. However, conflicting reports suggest Sesko remains the priority, with Bild claiming personal terms have already been agreed with the Slovenian.
