A busy mum has revealed how one purchase saved her £890 on luxury skincare, after testing all 12 items in the Symbiosis London Eternal Starlight Advent Calendar. The calendar, which contains 12 skincare essentials worth £988 when sold separately, is on sale for £109, and with the discount code STARLIGHT10 it drops to £98.10.
The set includes cleansing gel, exfoliator, lip scrub, serum, moisturiser, night treatment, and masks for the eyes and face. The reviewer, who had not heard of the brand before, said the calendar offers a complete skincare routine in one place, ideal for those with busy lives who struggle to find time for a lengthy beauty regime.
Products that impressed
None of the dozen products irritated the reviewer's sensitive skin, and she particularly praised the Rose + AHA In-Depth Detoxifying & Oxygenating Mask, priced at £97 on the Symbiosis London website. The mask does not require washing off and left her skin feeling soft and nourished all day, becoming a new favourite alongside her go-to, the No7 Instant Results Nourishing Hydration Mask, available for £14.95 at Boots.
However, she was not impressed by the Collagen + Isododecane Instant Perfecting Primer, noting its runny texture and lack of visible smoothing effect, though she acknowledged she may have needed to use it longer. She also was not a fan of the rose scent in some products.
Results after a stressful break
The cleanser and scrub helped clear up her complexion after a stressful city break, while the night treatment and overnight eye serum left her waking up looking refreshed despite disturbed nights with her baby. She noted that each product sank into the skin quickly, leaving no sticky residue or greasy sheen, particularly with the night products.
She plans to alternate the Hyaluronic Acid + Shea Butter Ultra-Rich Regenerating Night Treatment with Marks & Spencer's Ultra Peptide Night Cream, priced at £27. While she felt the sizes could have been more generous given the price, she said they are ideal for travelling with.
Value for money verdict
Overall, the reviewer said the Eternal Starlight Advent Calendar is value for money, working out at around £8.18 per product using the discount code, making it a solid deal for beauty lovers.
