Viktor Gyokeres Awkwardly Dodges Question About Arsenal Fan Chant Referencing Ex-Girlfriend

Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres was left visibly uncomfortable when asked about a viral fan chant that references his ex-girlfriend. The song, sung by Gunners supporters to the tune of Salt-N-Pepa's 'Push It', includes the line: 'He dumped his girlfriend, to play in red and white.'

The Sweden international, who joined Arsenal from Sporting CP for £63.5 million in the summer, was reportedly said to have ended his relationship with actress Ines Aguiar as he 'didn't want anything to tie him to Portugal' while pushing for the move, according to Portuguese reports.

When pressed on the chant during an interview, Gyokeres paused before responding: 'I have no comments about the song.' He had earlier praised Arsenal fans, saying: 'They have been absolutely incredible. They have shown me an incredible amount both during and outside of the games. I am extremely grateful for that.'

Gyokeres, who has scored two goals in his first three Premier League appearances, is currently on international duty with Sweden for World Cup qualifiers against Slovenia and Kosovo. He also defended Arsenal's style of play after criticism following a defeat to Liverpool, stating: 'It’s easy if you’re not on the pitch to say what you think and feel about a match. We did well defensively, and they didn’t get many chances.'
