Arsenal player ratings: Konsa 9/10 in Anfield win over Liverpool
Arsenal ratings: Konsa 9/10 in Anfield win

Arsenal moved three points clear at the top of the Premier League table with a battling 1-0 win over Liverpool at Anfield. Kai Havertz's finish at the back post in the 16th minute proved decisive, giving Arsenal their first victory at Anfield since September 2012.

Liverpool dominated possession and piled on pressure for large periods, but Arsenal held firm in a nervy encounter. Standard Sport's Matt Verri was at Anfield to rate the Arsenal players.

Defensive resilience and midfield grit

David Raya earned a 7, making one sensational pass through to Martin Odegaard to break the Liverpool press. Despite the pressure, he did not have a save to make. Jurrien Timber also scored 7, fortunate not to concede a penalty for a tug on Alexander Isak's shirt, but rescued his side with a last-ditch block on Ronald Araujo from close range.

Ezri Konsa was the standout performer with a 9, stepping up massively in an incredible second-half display. He made a pivotal block to deny Florian Wirtz and won all seven ground duels. Gabriel scored 7, angering Liverpool fans with how often he went down, but played his part in the hard-fought win. Riccardo Calafiori earned 8, giving Cody Gakpo and Rio Ngumoha nothing in an outstanding defensive display.

Midfield engine and attacking threat

Declan Rice scored 8 for another monster effort, with his overlapping run and perfect cross creating Havertz's goal. Bruno Guimaraes earned 6, relishing the red-hot atmosphere but tiring and looking vulnerable as Liverpool ran in midfield. Noni Madueke scored 7, involved in the opener and causing Milos Kerkez problems, though he struggled defensively and was booked.

Martin Odegaard earned 6, leading the press exceptionally in a bright start that created the opener, but Arsenal needed more control on the ball. Christos Tzolis scored 8, a surprise inclusion who delivered for Mikel Arteta, clipping one superb cross that should have been converted and denied by a sensational Alisson save. Kai Havertz earned 7, tapping in to open the scoring in a perfect response to his wasteful run.

Substitutes and closing stages

Myles Lewis-Skelly came on for Guimaraes in the 62nd minute and scored 5, slow to get up to pace and booked for hauling down Isak. Piero Hincapie replaced Tzolis in the 84th minute, scoring 6, and Viktor Gyokeres also came on for Havertz, scoring 6 while holding the ball up to relieve pressure. Mikel Merino replaced Odegaard in the 88th minute and received no rating.

Arsenal's win at Anfield ends a 14-year hoodoo and moves them three points clear at the top of the table.
