Arsenal are preparing a move for Crystal Palace winger Eberechi Eze, with a £60m release clause in his contract seen as the primary obstacle. The Gunners are looking to structure the payment in three instalments of £20m to make the deal more feasible within their remaining transfer budget.
Eze, 27, has been identified by Mikel Arteta as a key target to bolster his wide options. The England international has two years left on his current deal at Selhurst Park and is reportedly favouring a move to the Emirates should he leave Palace.
Arsenal have already spent heavily on Martin Zubimendi and are close to signing Christian Norgaard from Brentford, while Kepa Arrizabalaga has joined for a small fee. They are also pursuing Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon, which would likely deplete most of the summer budget, meaning further additions would rely on player sales.
The potential arrival of Eze could raise questions over the futures of Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard, both of whom have been linked with moves away, with Trossard specifically attracting interest from Saudi Arabia. Liverpool also retain long-term interest in the Palace star.
