Arsenal are drawing up plans to renovate the Emirates Stadium, with chief executive Richard Garlick leading the project, according to co-chair Josh Kroenke. The club have been considering an upgrade for several years, particularly after their recent Premier League title win highlighted demand for tickets beyond the current 60,704 capacity.
Kroenke said in a media interview that the stadium, now 20 years old, operates in a different financial environment than when it opened. He confirmed that new board members with experience in the United States are involved in developing a plan to renovate the ground, aiming to preserve its character while enhancing the matchday experience.
One option previously discussed is raising the four corners of the stadium, but the club have been wary of temporarily losing home advantage by playing at alternative venues such as Wembley. Kroenke emphasised the desire to maintain the character of old English football while modernising the facility.
Regarding transfers, Kroenke stated that the title win has not altered the club's plans, though it may open up new opportunities. Arsenal are targeting a left-sided player and at least two other signings, with Atletico Madrid's Julian Alvarez, Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers and Bournemouth's Junior Kroupi among the main targets.
