The Spanish Football Federation confirmed Zubimendi's withdrawal, stating: 'Martin Zubimendi has withdrawn from the Spanish national team camp due to discomfort in his right knee. To avoid any risk and to protect the player's health, he has been removed from the squad. Arsenal FC's medical staff have been informed of the situation.'
Ecuador's FA also provided an update on Hincapie, saying: 'The results were immediately sent to their clubs, where they will begin their respective recovery processes. The national team's medical staff will monitor their progress.'
This follows a string of withdrawals, including Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka leaving the England camp on Saturday, and Noni Madueke suffering a knee injury during Friday's friendly with Uruguay. Gabriel, William Saliba, Leandro Trossard, Jurrien Timber, Eberechi Eze, and Martin Odegaard have also been absent from international duty due to various issues.
The injury crisis poses a significant challenge for Mikel Arteta ahead of a daunting schedule.
