Arsenal get Vinicius Jr hope; Chelsea medicals; Liverpool, Man Utd

Arsenal's ambitious pursuit of Vinicius Jr is not over just yet. Sky Sports reported that Real Madrid categorically did not want to sell their Brazilian superstar and were confident he would agree a new contract this summer. However, Spanish journalist Ramon Alvarez de Mon insists there remains a significant financial gap between Vinicius Jr's camp and Real during complicated negotiations. He says an agreement to renew a deal that now has less than a year to run is far from being finalised, potentially opening the door for Arsenal.

Chelsea close in on Welbeck, Henderson

Chelsea are closing in on the shock signings of Danny Welbeck and Jordan Henderson, with the former due to undergo a medical this week. Elsewhere, Marc Cucurella has issued an emotional farewell message to Chelsea after completing his move to Real Madrid for £51.8million. The left-back played 115 times for the club since joining from Brighton in 2023. His move was announced during the World Cup, but following Spain's run to the final and their second ever triumph, Cucurella has been afforded additional time off before joining his new team-mates.

Liverpool and Man Utd updates

Bradley Barcola is said to have verbally agreed to join Liverpool, though Paris Saint-Germain are not hijacking Real Madrid over Yan Diomande. Manchester United chase a third midfielder transfer as they eye the likes of Manu Kone, Aurelien Tchouameni and Carlos Baleba. They have also entered the race for Iliman Ndiaye at Everton.
