Liverpool defender Andy Robertson has officially confirmed that he will be leaving the club when his contract expires at the conclusion of the current season. The Scotland international, who has spent nine successful years at Anfield, made the emotional announcement via the club's official website, expressing both relief and sadness at the impending farewell.

Robertson admitted that keeping his departure plans secret had become increasingly difficult in recent weeks and months. The 32-year-old full-back stated, "I think I feel better now that it's out in the open. The hardest bit in the last certainly couple of weeks and months is some people that are close to me in the training ground don't know and more importantly, the fans."
He explained that as the season progressed, questions about his future became more frequent, making it necessary to address the situation directly. Robertson emphasized his commitment to the Liverpool supporters, saying, "I've always said that the fans are the most important people at this club and I just think now is the time to tell them what's going on."

I wanted to try to bring trophies back to this football club, try to help put us back onto a place where I believe this football club belongs."
