Andy Carroll has reportedly been warned by his club, Dagenham & Redbridge, after jetting off to Ibiza with make-up artist Lou Teasdale while injured. The 36-year-old former Premier League striker, who is out of play until next month due to an injury, ignored the boss's advice to focus on recovery, according to a source.
The insider told The Sun: "Andy’s relationship with Lou attracts a lot of unwanted attention. He was pulled in by the boss and warned to rein it in. But Andy’s blinded by Lou. His telling-off fell on deaf ears." The source added that Carroll will "do anything to make Lou happy" even though he knew the trip would cause trouble.
Carroll and Teasdale, 41, recently split but rekindled their romance and shared holiday snaps on Instagram, including a mirror selfie and a beach photo. Teasdale captioned one post "Love you." The couple's relationship has been turbulent, with reports of a split earlier this month, though Carroll denied it was over.
In a recent interview, Carroll said: "I love Lou and I love her family. We row like any couple." He also addressed his ongoing divorce from Billi Mucklow, saying: "Things have been difficult for me and I'm going through a divorce." The couple have been together for over a year.
Carroll's representatives have been contacted for comment.
