Amorim Returns to Portugal After Manchester United Sacking

Ruben Amorim has been spotted in Portugal after being sacked by Manchester United earlier this month. The 40-year-old former Sporting Lisbon boss landed in his homeland on Saturday evening alongside his son, as shown in images from CNN Portugal.

Amorim was mobbed by reporters but refused to answer any questions before getting into a car. It is not the first sighting since his departure; he was also seen leaving his Cheshire home with his wife earlier this week.

Former United star Gary Pallister has tipped Amorim for a managerial return in Portugal. Speaking to Hard Rock Bet, Pallister said: 'I don’t know where Ruben ends up next. He might go back to Portugal. I’m sure someone from Portugal would want him after the job he did over there with Sporting.'

Amorim previously enjoyed significant success in Portugal, winning two Primeira Liga titles and three Portuguese cups with Braga and Sporting Lisbon. However, his tenure at Manchester United was a disappointment, culminating in the club's worst-ever Premier League finish and a Europa League final defeat.
