World Snooker to Review O'Sullivan's Expletive-Laden Rant at Carter

World Snooker Tour is reviewing Ronnie O’Sullivan’s explosive verbal attack on Ali Carter after the Masters final. O’Sullivan, 48, called Carter “a fucking nightmare” and said he needs to “see a counsellor” following his 10-7 victory at Alexandra Palace on Sunday.

The world No 1 was responding to Carter’s claim that O’Sullivan had “snotted on the floor” during the match. The WST confirmed the outburst “was under review” but declined further comment. O’Sullivan told newspapers: “He needs to sort his fucking life out. I’m not going to skirt around it any more, tip-toeing on eggshells around someone like that. He’s a nightmare.”

O’Sullivan added: “He’s got beef with me. He’s got issues, he’s got to sort his life out, he’s got to see a counsellor or something. He’s got to sort it out because I haven’t spoken to him for 20 years.” The long-running rivalry boiled over during their 2018 World Championship match when O’Sullivan barged into Carter at the table.

Carter, 44, accused O’Sullivan of “snotting all over the floor” and called it “outrageous behaviour from a top professional”. He said: “No one wants to say anything, do they? If it gets swept under the carpet then for me, it’s not good.” The matter is expected to be referred to the WPBSA, which is already in a disciplinary dispute with O’Sullivan over comments about unsanctioned exhibitions.
