Real Madrid confirmed the diagnosis in a statement on Wednesday, revealing that tests showed a muscle injury to the biceps femoris in his left leg. The club did not specify a recovery timeline, but the injury could jeopardise his participation in the Champions League clash against former club Liverpool on 4 November.
Alexander-Arnold posted on Instagram: 'Will be back as soon as possible. Stronger than before. See you soon Madridiasts.' Manager Xabi Alonso offered cautious optimism, saying: 'We're going to wait a bit with Trent because it might not be as bad as it seems.'
Madrid secured the win thanks to two penalties from Kylian Mbappe, with Timothy Weah equalising for Marseille. Alonso praised his team's resilience after a red card, stating: 'Despite being a man down, the team continued to dominate and press.'
