YouTube star and Misfits Boxing promoter KSI has officially retired from boxing, ending his ring career after a three-year hiatus. The 33-year-old internet personality has not fought since a narrow, controversial points loss to Tommy Fury in October 2023.
Despite stepping away as an active fighter, KSI insists he is not leaving the sport entirely, pledging to remain heavily involved as the executive figure behind his Misfits Boxing promotion. He said he has achieved everything he set out to accomplish, having turned influencer bout novelty into a multi-million-pound global business alongside promoters like Kalle Sauerland and streaming platform DAZN.
Physical toll and rivalry with Jake Paul
In an appearance on The Ranveer Show in January, the Prime Hydration founder admitted the physical strain of training had become overwhelming. He described the later weeks of camp as gruelling, saying his body began to shut down and that he felt mentally exhausted.
He also took aim at long-time rival Jake Paul, accusing the American of avoiding a fight. KSI said he had been offered $20 million and $30 million (£22.9m) to face Paul, but claimed the bouts never materialised due to repeated excuses and shifting goalposts.
Focus shifts to business and music
KSI will now reportedly devote his full energy to running Misfits Boxing, making music, and expanding Prime Hydration. His retirement closes a chapter that began in 2018 with his white-collar bout against Joe Weller, followed by pay-per-view clashes with Logan Paul.
The news sparked an outpouring on social media, with fans paying tribute. One follower wrote "KSI just retired [heartbroken emoji]", while another said "I respect what KSI has built."
