Labuschagne Dropped as Renshaw Gets Shock ODI Call-Up for India Series

Marnus Labuschagne has been omitted from Australia's ODI squad for the three-match series against India, with Queensland teammate Matt Renshaw handed a surprise recall. The 31-year-old Labuschagne managed only one run in each of his two innings during the recent series against South Africa and has a top score of 47 in his last 10 ODI outings.

Renshaw, who last featured in an ODI squad in 2022, is in line to make his white-ball international debut after hitting a century for Queensland in the Sheffield Shield. The left-hander has played 14 Tests, most recently in India in 2023, and will hope to press his case for a Test recall ahead of the Ashes.

Mitchell Starc returns to the ODI side after being rested, while Pat Cummins remains sidelined with a back injury as he targets the first Ashes Test in November. Glenn Maxwell will miss the entire five-match T20 series due to a wrist injury sustained in New Zealand.
