Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, the latest instalment in the iconic franchise, is available for less than £50 this weekend thanks to a limited-time deal stack at GAME and TopCashback. Shoppers can effectively get the game for £49.56 including delivery, a 33% saving on the £74.98 RRP.
The game, which critics have praised as 'the best in years,' is out now on PS5, Xbox and Nintendo Switch 2. GAME has reduced the title to £64.99 in a launch sale, but a three-day partnership with money-saving site TopCashback offers additional savings.
How the deal works
TopCashback is offering customers 10% cashback when they buy the new release at GAME between now and 11.59pm on Tuesday night. Shoppers who sign up for free as new members of TopCashback will also get £15 bonus cashback on their first £15 spend.
This means shoppers who sign up and then buy Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 at GAME on any of the three formats will effectively pay £49.56 including delivery after cashback is paid. The cashback will track and appear in shoppers' TopCashback accounts within seven working days of purchase, and becomes payable after GAME has paid TopCashback the commission.
Other retailer prices
For shoppers who don't want to use the cashback deal, the cheapest UK price comes courtesy of Argos, where the game costs £58.99 with click and collect, or £4.95 for delivery. On Amazon, it's possible to get the game for £59.99 on Xbox and PS5, although the Nintendo Switch 2 version is £10 more expensive at £69.99.
AO is offering the game at £60 for non-members, while AO Club members can get it for £56. Amazon and AO both offer free delivery. For gamers happy to download a non-physical version, Loaded, formerly known as CD Keys, offers the game from £50.99 for the Switch 2 version or £54.99 for Xbox. As it's an international site, shoppers should select the UK/EU key to get the right version.
Critical reception
Modern Warfare 4 has already scooped an impressive 91% score on Metacritic based on critic reviews. Critics have particularly praised the campaign mode, which encompasses wide-ranging battles and chases in Korea, New York, Paris and Mumbai, as well as city-wide assaults to reclaim occupied territory.
Digital Chumps described the game as 'the Call of Duty game we deserve' and a 'definitive series best.' Critic Ben Sheene explained: "As entries come and go, all with their own high and low points, Infinity Ward’s newest and most ambitious effort in years won’t go unnoticed and unappreciated."
PSX Brasil described it as delivering 'an exciting campaign, truly engaging modes for both single-player and multiplayer, spectacular graphics and sound and the same precise and satisfying gameplay as always.' Reviewer Paulo Roberto Montanaro said: "It’s undoubtedly the best game in the series in a decade and possibly one of the best CoD games of all time."
Impulse Gamer described it as 'the best single-played CoD campaign in years, with a fresh South Korean setting, diverse missions and high-octane combat.' Reviewer Nathan Misa said: "The game’s overall variety in mission design, cinematic set pieces and full throttle pacing make for a very satisfying FPS experience."
