Conor McGregor Breaks Silence on UFC Comeback Fight with Michael Chandler

Conor McGregor has finally broken his silence on his upcoming UFC comeback fight against Michael Chandler, promising he is "energetic and ready" after two years out of the octagon. The former two-weight world champion spoke exclusively to Mirror Fighting hours before flying to Las Vegas to film The Ultimate Fighter reality show.

McGregor was at his Dublin pub, The Black Forge Inn, for a meeting with boxing promoter Eddie Hearn about potentially involving himself in Katie Taylor's homecoming fight in May. After a final night with friends and fans, he will leave on Tuesday to begin preparations for his return.

"I'm looking forward to it," McGregor said. "I feel good, I feel energetic, I feel ready. I'm throwing up my high kicks faster than I'm throwing out my jab. So I'm very excited to get back." The fight, announced by UFC President Dana White, has no date or location set yet.

Chandler, who has campaigned for the bout since joining the UFC, predicted a second-round finish. "I believe I finish Conor in the second round," he told ESPN. "If he lands one on the button, it’s going to be a rough night for me. If I land one on the button, it’s going to be a rough night for him."
