Lennox Lewis Backs Daniel Dubois to Dethrone Oleksandr Usyk in Heavyweight Showdown
Lewis backs Dubois to dethrone Usyk

Boxing icon Lennox Lewis has tipped British heavyweight Daniel Dubois to cause a major upset when he faces unified champion Oleksandr Usyk in their upcoming title fight.

The former undisputed heavyweight champion, who dominated the division in the 1990s, believes Dubois possesses the raw power needed to dethrone the technically brilliant Usyk.

Lewis Sees Potential for Shock Result

"Daniel has that knockout power in both hands," Lewis told reporters. "Against Usyk, who's a master boxer but not the biggest heavyweight, that could be the deciding factor."

The 25-year-old Dubois (19-1, 18 KOs) earned his shot at Usyk's WBA, IBF and WBO titles with an impressive fourth-round stoppage of Kevin Lerena last December.

Experience vs Youth Power

Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs), the former undisputed cruiserweight champion, has looked formidable since moving up to heavyweight, including two victories over Anthony Joshua.

However, Lewis suggests the 36-year-old Ukrainian might struggle with Dubois' physicality: "Daniel's young, hungry, and hits like a truck. That's always dangerous in this division."

British Boxing's Rising Star

Dubois represents Britain's latest hope for heavyweight glory, following in the footsteps of Lewis, Joshua and Tyson Fury.

A victory would make the Londoner a three-belt world champion and establish him as the new force in the division.

The highly anticipated bout is expected to take place later this year, with negotiations currently underway between the fighters' teams.
