Tyson Fury has launched a blistering verbal assault on fellow British heavyweight Anthony Joshua, branding him a "classless loser" over comments made about his upcoming fight with YouTuber Jake Paul.
Fury's Furious Social Media Rant
The 'Gypsy King' took to his Instagram story to mock Joshua after a video emerged from the latter's open workouts this week. In the clip, Joshua declared "if I can kill you, I will kill you" as he prepared for his eight-round professional contest against Paul in Miami this Friday night.
Fury, who is being lined up to face Joshua in a long-awaited showdown next year, did not hold back in his criticism. "He's a little bit long in the tooth to be talking s***e like that," Fury stated. "He's 37-years-old, at the end of his career, fighting a YouTuber, a Disney channel guy, who Tommy (Fury) beat."
Underdog Narrative and Past Defeat
The fight has raised eyebrows due to the significant disparity between the two men. Joshua is a former unified world champion, while Paul is a cruiserweight novice with a record of 12 wins and one loss. Despite this, Fury suggested Joshua's extreme language was merely an attempt to sell the event.
He also pointedly referenced Joshua's last outing, a crushing fifth-round defeat by Daniel Dubois at Wembley in September 2024, where Joshua was knocked down four times. "You're a classless loser coming off a 15-month knockout defeat to a local lad," Fury taunted.
A Direct Threat and a Prediction
Fury concluded his tirade with a direct threat to his future opponent and a prediction for Friday's bout. "Here's a fun fact – if I ever come across you bum, I'm knocking you dead spark out. I ain't a YouTuber or a man half your size. I am him, the man," he said.
He also added, "I can't wait if Jake Paul knocks you spark out, you big bum." Despite the fiery exchange and Paul's underdog status, Joshua remains the overwhelming favourite to win the contest at the Kaseya Center in Florida.
