Nicola Olyslager won the women's high jump at the Diamond League final in Zurich, securing her first Diamond Trophy with a season-best clearance.
Victory in Zurich
The British athlete cleared 1.98 metres to take the top spot in the competition, edging out her rivals in a tightly contested final.
Olyslager's winning mark came on her second attempt, and she then made three unsuccessful attempts at 2.01 metres before settling for the victory.
Season-Best Performance
The 1.98-metre clearance matched her personal best and set a new season-best for the 26-year-old, who had previously jumped 1.97 metres earlier in the campaign.
Ukraine's Yaroslava Mahuchikh finished second with a best of 1.95 metres, while Australia's Nicola McDermott took third with the same height, but on countback.
Diamond Trophy Secured
The win gave Olyslager her first Diamond League title and capped a consistent season in which she had finished on the podium in four of her five Diamond League appearances.
Reflecting on the achievement, Olyslager said: "It means everything to me. I have worked so hard for this moment, and to do it in Zurich, in front of this crowd, is incredible."
The Zurich meeting was the final event of the 2026 Diamond League season, and Olyslager's victory confirmed her as the leading high jumper of the campaign.
