Australian sprinting's newest superstar, Gout Gout, has made his first major purchase with his burgeoning wealth, securing a £4.4 million property for his family in Brisbane.

From Record Breaker to Homeowner

The 18-year-old phenom, who only recently celebrated his birthday, has capitalised on his landmark sponsorship agreement with sportswear giant Adidas. The deal, reportedly worth £4 million ($6m), was signed when Gout was just 16, seeing Adidas triumph over rivals Nike and Puma for his signature.

Gout revealed the significant purchase in an interview with Nova FM, stating that providing for his family was a key ambition. "It's definitely a privilege being able to provide back to my family what they've given to me," he said. "As you get older, one of your dreams is buying your parents a house... and I've done one of those things."

Drawing Comparisons to a Legend

Gout Gout's rapid ascent in athletics has seen him repeatedly compared to the greatest sprinter of all time, Usain Bolt. His potential was highlighted when he shattered a 56-year Australian 200m record, clocking 20.02 seconds to eclipse Peter Norman's long-standing mark.

Former Australian Olympian Jane Flemming was among the first to note the striking parallels, commenting on his physique and running style. Bolt himself has endorsed the young athlete, offering advice for the transition to senior competition. "He has a great future. If he gets everything right, his future is going to be bright," the Jamaican legend stated.

Focused on the Future

Despite his newfound financial success, Gout remains focused on his sporting career. He is currently training for the 2026 Commonwealth Games and World Junior Championships, following a debut at the World Athletics Championships where he narrowly missed the final.

The Queenslander's long-term sights are set on Olympic glory, with the 2028 Los Angeles Games and the home 2032 Brisbane Olympics on the horizon. Reflecting on his achievements at such a young age, Gout admitted, "[I'm] definitely proud of myself for sure, and sometimes it's a pinch yourself moment."
