Reality TV star Katie Price has unveiled her latest dramatic body modification - an enormous floral tattoo covering one side of her bum.
The 46-year-old media personality took to social media to share the extensive new ink, revealing to her millions of followers that the elaborate piece is only halfway complete.
The Tattoo Reveal
Price shared both photos and videos across her Instagram and Snapchat accounts, giving fans an intimate look at the tattooing process. In one clip, she displayed the stencil that would become part of a much larger design.
The former glamour model explained that the current semicircle of flowers represents just one half of what will eventually form a complete heart shape across both buttocks. "This tattoo is going on my bum cheek but the aim is to make a heart," she told followers. "So that is going to be on my bum cheek and then turned around to make a heart shape."
The Painful Process
Despite applying numbing cream - the same type she uses for lip procedures - Price admitted the extensive work was proving challenging. She questioned whether the cream was merely a "placebo" given the discomfort she experienced.
In a moment of vulnerability from the tattoo bed, the star was heard motivating herself to continue. "I'm trying to motivate myself to get this finished," she shared in another video. "I'm done and I'm just using my every bit of 'come on Kate, come on Kate' to get this done, and my body is done."
Price acknowledged the scale of the undertaking, noting that while the design might not appear substantial to viewers, "for me it is quite a big piece. It will take ages. That is gonna hurt. Big piece with a small little bum."
Price's Tattoo History
This latest addition continues Price's long history with body art. Her existing collection includes:
- A thong-top design on her lower back
- A unicorn spanning her stomach
- Various animal-inspired tattoos
- A portrait of daughter Princess Andre on her calf
The star has also had several cover-ups over the years, including replacing a tribute to ex-fiancé Carl Woods and transforming a tattoo of ex Leandro Penna's name into a pony design on her ankle.
Her left wrist now features a rose and crown covering what was originally a tribute to former husband Peter Andre. She initially had an 'X' placed over his name before opting for a complete cover-up.
In 2020, Price acquired her largest tattoo to date - an elaborate floral arm piece created during a three-hour session at Samui Ink in Thailand's Koh Samui that cost her £180.
Embracing her evolving body art collection, Price philosophically told followers: "I'm gonna love it. I'm a work in progress with my tattoos."
