Sir Dave Brailsford has officially stepped down as a director at Manchester United, with his departure confirmed by a Premier League club filing and formalised on 30 April.
Key role in Ratcliffe takeover
Brailsford played a pivotal role following Sir Jim Ratcliffe's minority takeover of the club in February 2024. His involvement with United was scaled back last June as part of a wider reshuffle within the organisation.
Return to Ineos
Since leaving his role at Old Trafford, Brailsford has returned to his position as director of sport for the wider Ineos group, where he continues to oversee sporting operations across multiple disciplines.
The departure marks the end of a significant chapter for Brailsford at Manchester United, though he remains closely aligned with the club through his ongoing work with Ineos, which owns a substantial stake in the Premier League side.
