Georgia Maq's Explicit Toilet Video Stirs Controversy Online
Georgia Maq's Explicit Toilet Video Sparks Outrage

Melbourne-based musician Georgia Maq has divided audiences with an explicit video she uploaded to promote a show at The Tote bar in Collingwood. The former frontwoman of indie rock band Camp Cope shared the clip on Instagram this week, but it was deleted only hours later.

Content of the Video

The video showed Georgia kneeling in a toilet at the venue, pretending to perform sexual acts on two men. It opened with the caption 'Tales from The Tote toilet' and featured the musician crouched in front of a man. After calling out 'Next!', the man stepped away and buckled his pants. As he moved off-screen, a substance was visible on the side of Georgia's face.

Georgia then addressed the camera, saying, 'Oh, hi! I'm Georgia Maq and I'm playing two sold out shows at The Tote this Thursday and Friday,' before calling 'Next!' again. Another man entered the toilet while unbuckling his pants as the screen faded to black, displaying the dates of her performances.

Public Reaction

The video was later deleted from Instagram but reuploaded to Reddit, where viewers were divided. Critics expressed outrage, with comments such as 'Look guys, I'm making blow job jokes, aren't I fun?' and 'Ew wtf.' Others defended the musician, stating, 'It's a pretty weird way to promote a gig but seriously who gives a sh*t? Just let her do what she wants.' One Redditor commented, 'I've seen GWAR spray a crowd with **** blood. This doesn't seem that bad. It's a punk venue.'

Georgia's Response

Georgia addressed the controversy on her Instagram Stories, posting two close-up selfies. The first was captioned 'Sorry you guys hate women lol,' and the second read, 'Sorry guys! Forgot only men can make jokes about their sexuality!'

Daily Mail has reached out to Georgia and The Tote for further comment.
