Zack Polanski, the Green party leader, has faced new scrutiny over his past claims about hypnosis increasing breast size, as a BBC interview from 2013 contradicts his assertion that he immediately apologised for the remarks.
In 2013, before entering politics, Polanski participated in a Sun article where a journalist underwent hypnotherapy to enlarge her breasts. Polanski has since apologised, stating he was approached by the paper and took responsibility. He claimed to have apologised in a BBC interview the day after the Sun article, but the BBC could not locate such an interview.
However, a BBC Humberside interview from six days later shows Polanski standing by the claim. He described it as “a successful project” and said there was “anecdotal evidence of a growth in breast size.” He added, “I believe that it can happen in theory,” though he preferred using sessions to improve body image.
A Labour source criticised Polanski, saying his “pretence to have been misrepresented was absolute nonsense.” In response, a Green party source stated Polanski has repeatedly apologised and is now focused on key issues like bills, the NHS, and public services.
