Jimmy Kimmel and Seth Meyers have taken aim at Donald Trump's social media activity, with Kimmel describing the president as 'our most out-of-control relative on social media'. The remarks came during their shows this week, as they also discussed the Los Angeles mayoral race and other political news.
On Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the host mocked Trump's frequent posts, noting that the president had posted 861 times in the past month. Kimmel joked that Trump seems to have time to be 'a doctor and Jesus' in addition to his social media presence. He also responded to Trump's criticism of late-night hosts, showing a photo of the president's ankles and comparing them to 'a balloon animal made of sausage links'.
Kimmel also addressed the Los Angeles mayoral race, criticising reality TV star Spencer Pratt's candidacy. He said voting for Pratt would be 'like if your canoe is sinking and you thought it might help to add a rattlesnake'. The audience cheered when Kimmel noted Pratt's threat to leave Los Angeles if he loses.
On Late Night, Seth Meyers commented on Trump's claim that he is not worried about oil price spikes due to the war in Iran. Meyers joked that the current price of gas is 'walk, bitch'. He also speculated about a planned Penn Station renovation that includes a plaque with Trump's name, suggesting it might be because 'Penn Station also stinks and never worked'.
Both hosts touched on other topics, including a reporter's question about Trump's frequent health checkups and a new video of RFK Jr picking up snakes. Meyers quipped, 'Can't a guy go grocery shopping without being taped?'
