Marjorie Taylor Greene Says Republican Party Needs to ‘Burn to the Ground’

Former congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has called for the Republican Party to be dismantled, claiming it is controlled by pro-Israel lobbyists and has become a ‘cult’ around President Donald Trump. In an interview with conspiracy theorist Alex Jones on his InfoWars podcast, Greene said the party needed to start over entirely because too many lawmakers were loyal to Israel.

‘Here’s what we have to do: we have to be realistic about the Republican Party,’ Greene said. ‘The Republican Party needs to burn to the ground. It’s completely controlled.’ She accused lawmakers of being ‘controlled by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC)’ and criticised Trump supporters for their unquestioning loyalty.

Greene, once a staunch Trump ally, has distanced herself from the president after a falling out earlier this year that led to her resignation from the House of Representatives. She has since accused Trump of being mentally unstable and abandoning US interests to pursue war with Israel. ‘This is not the same man that we supported,’ she insisted.

Other former Trump allies, including Alex Jones, Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens, have also criticised the president’s decision to go to war against Iran. Greene and Jones said they would continue criticising Trump to draw supporters away. Greene suggested a new Republican Party could emerge, but candidates should not take money from AIPAC or ‘AIPAC-adjacent donors’.

Greene insisted her comments were not antisemitic, but she has a history of making antisemitic remarks, including promoting a conspiracy theory about Jewish people controlling a space laser. On Thursday, she called for a ‘populist coalition of the right and left’ to address key issues for future generations.
