The alliance between Trump and Carlson is opportunistic, stemming from their shared animosity toward Fox News. Carlson was abruptly fired from his prime-time show in April after leaked texts revealed his contempt for Fox executives and even for Trump himself, whom he called a “disaster” in the White House.
Trump has long accused Fox of bias, particularly favoring Ron DeSantis. By collaborating, both men aim to draw viewers away from the debate and damage the network's ratings.
The former president has promoted the interview on his own social media platform, hinting it may not be cordial. Regardless, the drama is expected to overshadow the official debate stage.
