Arsenal are preparing to make a formal approach for Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers, having identified the 23-year-old England international as their primary summer transfer target. The Premier League champions are optimistic about securing a deal, though Villa are reluctant to sell and could demand up to £100m.
Rogers, currently with the England squad in the US ahead of a World Cup match against Ghana, is believed to be keen on joining Arsenal. He joined Villa from Middlesbrough for £8m in 2024 and signed a six-year contract in November after a stellar first season, which earned him the PFA Young Player of the Year award.
The versatile attacker was named Europa League Player of the Tournament after helping Villa win their first major trophy since 1996. He has been competing with Jude Bellingham for a starting spot under Thomas Tuchel and came off the bench in England's win over Croatia.
Rogers' potential arrival could cast doubt on the future of Arsenal captain Martin Ødegaard, who endured a difficult season despite the club ending a 22-year league title drought. Rogers can also play on either flank, and Arsenal are reportedly open to selling Gabriel Martinelli.
In addition, Arsenal are expected to pursue Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi, an 18-year-old Morocco international valued at around £70m, and are close to signing 16-year-old Leicester winger Jeremy Monga for £10m-£15m.
